We have just added the DgClock Java clock, a script available through the control panel.
Can you point be to a source where I can learn about how to change what is displayed on the IE Status Bar? Right now the Status bar displays "Applet Dgclock started" and we would like it to say "Done" or something different. Maybe even to be able to have a message scroll in that area.
As always any help is much appreciated.

Unless you want to start opening the files for it and making changes, best just to live with the 'loading' msg. Being as it's on the page bottom though, should be loaded and functional by the time someone actually sees it.
Don't forget, lots of people have Java turned off and will not see -- nor the waterfall either. Speaking of which, since the waterfall is also loading it is slowing down the load time of the Java clock, as the clock normally loads pretty quick.
BTW, noticed with IE 6 and Java turned on, your 'mouser pointer fishies' don't work anymore?

Thanks for all of that Rob. Do you have a source that I can check out about the status bar display?
Also Rob let me know when a good time to get in touch with you is. We need some support services. It is about some of the design issues you and I have talked about.
Thanks.

Showing an Applet name in the Status Bar is a Browser specific function and cannot be changed -- to my knowledge. The only change you can make is the 'name' that shows and to change that, you need to change the name of the Applet.
i.e. if you remove the Dgclock applet then the Status Bar will show "Applet Lake started' as that would be the last applet loaded.
The Dgclock Applet is freeware that is provided by Cpanel. You could always search out your own Clock Applet and use that instead. Might allow for more options as well.
As for hiring Potent Products to do some more work, eMail is best and we can arrange a good time for both of us. Afternoons is usually good for me, but remember I'm an hour behind your time.
